Uniforms and Dress Code

Jumpers and Skorts

    • Girls may wear a navy or khaki jumper or skort
    • Jumpers and skorts must be a reasonably modest length; examples of approved jumpers include:
      • Land’s End-Navy Jumper #068175 & #068176
      • Walmart- George Girl’s Pleated Jumper

Pants/Shorts

    • Dress pants, navy or khaki, “docker style” trousers
    • Low riders, skinny pants, cargo pants, and leggings are not  permitted
    • No decorations of any kind may be worn on pants – i.e. rivets, patches, embroidery, jewels
    • If a belt is worn, it must be solid black, brown, navy, or white with no decorations
    • In warmer months, girls may wear navy or khaki uniform shorts
    • Shorts must be knee-length
    • Cargo style shorts are not permitted
    • The same guidelines for uniform pants apply for uniform shorts

Dress Shirts

    • White, oxford-style or rounded collar, short or long sleeved shirts may be worn year-round.
    • Shirts must be tucked in at all times; shirts must be long enough to remain tucked in while seated or when hand is raised
    • Undergarments underneath shirts must be appropriately colored and have no writing – i.e. girls should wear white or beige garments under their blouses

Polos

    • Only the red polo with the DMCA logo is permitted

Mass Day/Dress Uniform

    • White dress shirt and jumper, skort, or pant with dress shoes and socks; see individual headings for descriptions
    • Polos are permitted to be worn on Mass days

Sweaters

    • Solid navy, white, or gray cardigan, crewneck, v-neck, and vests as weather dictates
    • Uniform DMCA crewneck sweatshirts 
    • Not permitted: Hoodies, hooded sweatshirts, and zip-ups; these items may be worn to and from school and at recess, but may not be worn during class

Socks

    • Solid white, gray, navy blue, black, or khaki.
    • Solid navy or white tights may be worn with jumpers
    • Ankle, crew, or knee socks are preferred

 Shoes

    • Shades of black, blue, or brown dress shoes year-round
    • No variation of athletic, sneaker, or tennis shoes or shoes with decorations
    • Heels must be no higher than 1 inch
    • Preferred styles of shoes are loafers, mary-janes, and ballet flats
    • No flip flops, high heels, slippers, sandals, crocs, athletic shoes, open-heel shoes, or boots of any kind may be worn during school hours
    • Shoestrings must be solid navy, white, brown, or black

Make-up, Hair, Jewelry

    • Earrings may be worn in earlobes only; earrings must be small; for safety reasons no large hoops or dangles
    • No make-up of any kind or tattoos permitted
    • No unnatural coloring of hair is permitted
    • Other jewelry may be worn in moderation – i.e. one bracelet, watch or necklace

Gym Clothes

    • Students in grades K-6 will wear gym attire to school on their designated gym day
    • TOPS: any red DMCA t-shirt, a uniform red polo shirt, or purchase a new DMCA red t-shirt
    • BOTTOMS: plain black shorts—no logos (to be worn during the months of August, September, October, April, May); or plain black sweatpants (open bottom, no logos/ stripes); or purchase DMCA logo shorts and/or sweatpants

Dress Down/Up Days

    • Sandals are not permitted
    • Blue jeans are permitted on dress down days only as long as they are not low riding and have no holes
    • Athletic shoes are permitted on dress down days but no sandals or flip flops
    • T-shirts must have appropriate logos – no offensive or suggestive language
    • Leggings can only be worn by girls as long as an appropriate length skirt or shirt is worn over top that covers the thighs

Our administrative team reserves the right to determine and curtail unacceptable articles of dress and hair style.

No skinny pants, cargo pants, jeans, rivets, leggings, bell bottoms, painter pants, or cuffs are permitted
 

Shorts

    • In warmer months, boys may wear navy or khaki dress shorts
    • Shorts must be knee-length
    • Cargo style shorts are not permitted
    • The same guidelines that are stated for pants also apply to shorts
    • Shorts are permitted (Usually in September, October, April, May, and June)

Dress Shirts

    • White, oxford-style collar, short or long-sleeved shirts may be worn by boys year round
    • Boys must have their top buttons and collars buttoned at all times
    • Shirts must be tucked in at all times
    • Shirts must be long enough to remain tucked in while seated or when hand is raised
    • Undergarments under shirts must be appropriately colored and have no writing

Ties - Optional; for those interested in wearing ties, they must be:

    • Standard, full-length and navy blue
    • Tied at top of neck, iincluding clip-on ties
    • Ties may be purchased in the school office

Polos

    • The only permitted polo is the official embroidered red polo with the DMCA logo

    • Polos are permitte to be worn on Mass days

Sweaters

    • Boys in all grades may wear solid navy, white, or gray cardigan, crewneck, v-neck and vests as weather dictates
    • Only DMCA uniform crewneck sweatshirts are acceptable
    • Hoodies, hooded sweatshirts and zip-ups are not acceptable; they may be worn as a coat to and from school and at recess, but may not be worn during class

Socks

    • Solid white, navy blue, black, or khaki
    • Ankle and crew socks are preferred

Shoes

    • Solid black, blue, or brown dress shoes year round
    • No variations of athletic, sneaker, or tennis shoes with lettering and/or striping will be permitted; no boots of any kind may be worn during school hours
    • Sandals are not permitted (this includes dress down days)
    • Shoestrings must be solid navy, white, brown, or black

Make-up, Hair, Jewelry

    • Absolutely no make-up of any kind or tattoos are permitted
    • Hair should be neatly trimmed, conservative in style (no Mohawks or other faddish styles), and natural in color; no hair coloring. 
    • Earrings are not permitted for boys
    • Other jewelry may be worn in moderation – i.e. one bracelet, watch or necklace
