E-Sports

We offer several athletic programs and teams for students, including perhaps the region's only upper-elementary/middle school e-sports program. Through e-sports, 5th and 6th-grade boys and girls compete against one another in virtual football, hockey, basketball, and hybrid soccer games. During the 2019-2020 season, the first year of the league, DMCA teams also competed in an in-house e-sports tournament.

For the 2020-2021 season, DMCA expanded our program and joined the Middle School ESports League (MSEL), a High School Esports League division. This league is nationwide, and our 6th-grade students compete weekly in a nationwide tournament in Rocket League.

We have plans to advance our program further for the 2021-2022 school year.
This is the second year of our E-sports program, but we have made some new changes to the format. 
 
  • Our 6th-grade students are now competing in the MSEL Spring Major tournament
  • We are hosting in-house invitational matches for our 5th-grade students (both campuses) to compete against one another to see if they might be interested in joining the team in 6th grade. 
    • All participating students must have a signed DMCA Esports agreement, have joined the open Google Classroom, and use their provided Gamertag
    • These matches will be live-streamed on our Twitch channel on Friday at 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm
  • Saturdays at 7:00 pm & 8:00 pm will be our 6th-grade students who are invited to practice. These sparring sessions will also be live-streamed on our Twitch channel.
